Description
This Space Capsule 5 was made in Japan by Modern Toys - MT. Circa the 1950's - 1960's, it is being sold for parts or restoration.
The space toy and box suffered water damage and the previous owner had carefully disassembled for repair and never proceeded further.
We have taken many photographs so you will have an idea of what a restoration would take. All internal parts are present and the lenses have no cracks or chips. Most of the surface rust could be removed and after that a few areas would need some touch up. The mechanism itself is about 98% rust free.
The original box could use repairs to the tears, punctures, etc., but will look quite nice after a bit of TLC.
This toy was purchased years ago as it is found today, and we hoped to find the time to bring it back to life. That never happened so it is time for it to find a new home. We have no doubt that in the right hands this will become an outstanding space capsule.
This tin toy is about 10 inches long - a very large capsule.
