Description
This Super Giant Robot was made in Japan for SH - Horikawa. Circa the 1960's, it is being sold for parts or restoration. This is the early version of this robot where he walks in one direction - rotates - and then walks back toward the direction he came from ("shuttles" as noted on the box).
Sadly, someone with less than stellar robot repair skills opened the robot up bending parts and breaking tabs. We have taken many photographs so you will have an idea of what a restoration would take. The head base tabs are shot as are the ones that held the torso to the internal mechanism (the torso is totally detached from the body with the exception of the battery box wires). The front chest plate tabs remain intact.
No response when tested with batteries. The battery box is pristine and the mechanism appears to be intact.
The original box could use repairs to the tears, punctures, etc., but will look quite nice after a bit of TLC.
This robot was purchased years ago as it is found today, and we hoped to find the time to bring it back to life. That never happened so it is time for it to find a new home. We have no doubt that in the right hands this will become an outstanding robot.
This tin robot is about 16 inches tall - a very large and imposing robot.
