  • Condition: This early piece is in very nice condition with only 1 small rim chip as pictured. No other chips a couple super tiny nicks no cracks repairs or damage. Its finish is a little worn but this was a much used piece. I believe is was a milk pitcher as it retains a little bit of an oily finish which it has probably absorbed over the last decade. Makes sense, Milk was a highly prized commodity. Its a great piece in amazing condition!

    Description

    This is an Estate Fresh old Native American Pitcher Pot from a longtime collector of Native American Art and Artifacts.  This piece is an amazing Historic Piece from where I believe is the Taos Pueblo and is a Milk Pitcher Pot.  One can feel where the fat from the milk has absorbed into the pottery to give it a bit an an oily feel, not uncommon to Milk Pichers.   It is a hand coiled Redware Micaceous clay Pot with flakes of Mica all thru it.  It is Horno or Kilen fired and fire clouds are present.  It has tremendous good wear on the bottom to support its 1890's to 1910's age in my opinion though it could easily be older.  It still retains some of its original hand decoration around the outside.  It comes in great original condition as described above and pictured.  Please use those photos as you guide to condition and what you believe this to be as the preceding is strictly my opinion.  The piece stands 6" x 8.75" x 6.75" diameter.
