This 28” handmade Bucilla JUMBO stocking is a finished rare out-of-print “Santa and Stuffed Animals” #83017 kit. One of the photos shows a full sized 18” stocking placed against the back of this 28” jumbo stocking so you have a better idea of the size difference. I have made many enhancements to this kit (as I do on most handmade kits) that include use of special glass and pearl beads, metallic silver thread, custom premium red felt back, a custom designed strong hanging loop with a different color choice, an emphasis on highlighting the three dimensional aspects of the design, color changes on many of the animals, especially the fawn and bunny. This stocking was also stabilized with a foundation layer of felt because this kit has so many items on this stocking, that having extra foundation is critical to help it maintain its shape over time.  I have lined this enchanting stocking with a holiday polka dot fabric. This is a very three dimensional stocking that is exceptional and spectacular in size and quality. These 28” Bucilla stockings are the largest sized stockings that Bucilla makes, larger than other “jumbos.” This handmade stocking is being offered in the same price range as many sellers sell the unmade kit. A wonderful gift for a special individual or family.
Every crafter has their individual style and artistry. Mine is based on learning the needle arts at the age of six from my Grandmother who was born in 1900. I endeavor to give my work a dimensional look that allows them an impression of almost being alive; I want the future owner to see that Christmas magic!  My 18” stockings typically take 50 to 60 hours to make because I like to use fine stitching, I make custom colored backs for exposed felt (so each piece will look finished front and back), I strengthen and stabilize the front of each kit with foundation felt which will enable the stocking to maintain its shape over time, I also line the front and back of each stocking in a way that maximizes the interior space and enhance the hanging loop to strengthen it. A 28” stocking requires about double the work and materials that are used to make a 18” stocking.
Personalization must be requested at the time of purchase, names that are seven letters or less will look the best. WITHOUT instructions for personalization at the time of purchase, the stocking will be mailed out within one day exactly as shown in the listing. WITH instructions for personalization, shipment may be delayed up to three days. Many of the people who buy my handmade stockings later request additional ones made on commission.
