    Description

Attacking Martian Robot, Medallion Version, Horikawa, Japan, 1971:
Now offered for auction:  One  Attacking Martian Robot by Horikawa, Japan, 1971.  Rare version with medallions on chest.  Large, over 11-inches tall tin, battery operated robot with fly eyes and firing guns behind opening chest doors.  This version has silver fly eyes and was featured in the Aldens 1971 catalog, where it is called the Mighty Mechanical Walking Robot.  This sturdy robot has distinctive circular decorations (medallions) on the chest doors, instead of the green plastic windows that other early Attacking Martian robots did.  Litho on both medallions and lower torso is in very nice condition.  Put two D batteries in.  But no movement or sound or guns blazing when we switched it on.  Battery compartment is clean, so probably a loose wire.  Price adjusted accordingly.  Buyer pays shipping and insurance is required.  Good luck bidders!  Please check our other auctions for more robots and other cool collectibles.
